On the afternoon of October 27th, Professor Li Chunying of the School of Economics of Anhui University of Finance and Economics was invited to give a special lecture on Correct Understanding and Treatment of Capital to the 2022 freshmen, which was hosted by Professor Fu Dongmei.

Professor Li analyzed the generation and development of capital historically and dialectically from four aspects, as well as the status and role of capital under different social systems. First of all, combined with the internal logic of Capital, based on historical facts, the duality of capital is analyzed concisely and clearly. Secondly, in view of the hot issues in reality, we respond to the reasons for the existence of capital in the current stage of socialism from the dimensions of productive forces, social system and historical practice. Third, combined with economic facts, analyze the internal reasons for the rapid development of our country's economy driven by capital, especially emphasizing the coupling between capital and market economy. The socialist market economic system based on public ownership not only creates conditions for capital to play an active role, but also emphasizes the use of systems to overcome its negative effects. Finally, with an open attitude, students will discuss with students how socialist China treats the issue of capital. Adhering to the two unwavering and deeply understanding the spirit of the central economic work in 2021 is the key to understanding the status and role of capital in the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics. We must see both the positive side of capital and its negative side, unswervingly develop it on the positive side, and discover and avoid it in time for the negative side.

Afterwards, Ms. Fu Dongmei made a summary and thanked Professor Li for her informative and in-depth explanation. Dialectical view of the market and capital is the basis for building the political economy of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and I hope that students will establish a grand view of history and learn to correctly understand capital from the history of human civilization, the history of socialist development and the history of China's reform and opening up.
