On July 27-28, 2024, the Xi Jinping Cultural Thought Youth Forum (2024) hosted by the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Anhui University of Finance and Economics, and undertaken by the Xi Jinping Cultural Thought Research Office of the Institute of Philosophy and the School of Marxism of Anhui University of Finance and Economics was held in Tunxi District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. More than 70 experts and scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (National Academy of Administration), Peking University, Chinese University and other domestic universities and research institutes attended the conference, focusing on the systematic chemical and physical research of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, the philosophical foundation, theoretical construction and historical evolution of cultural subjectivity.

The opening ceremony was presided over by researcher Yang Hongyuan, deputy director of the Xi Jinping Cultural Thought Research Office of the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. At the ceremony, researcher Zhou Dan, deputy director of the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, delivered a speech, introducing the fruitful achievements and future efforts of the Institute of Philosophy in the research of Xi Jinping's cultural thought. Professor Wang Bing, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Anhui University of Finance and Economics, delivered a speech, in which he extended a warm welcome and sincere greetings to the experts and scholars attending the conference on behalf of the organizers, and introduced the basic situation and development achievements of Anhui University of Finance and Economics in recent years. He pointed out that Xi Jinping's cultural and ideological vision is broad, ambitious, profound, and rich in connotation, which is a theoretical summary of the practical experience of the party's leadership in cultural construction in the new era, enriches and develops Marxist cultural theory, and constitutes the cultural chapter of Xi Jinping's socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era, marking that our party's understanding of the law of socialist cultural construction with Chinese characteristics has reached a new height, indicating that our party's historical and cultural self-confidence has reached a new height. He expects that this forum can stimulate the spark of thought on the in-depth study of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, produce a number of high-level theoretical achievements, and make due contributions to the cause of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.

In the speech and discussion stage of the conference, the participating scholars carried out theoretical discussions on the theme of the philosophical basis of cultural subjectivity, and formed fruitful research results. First, some scholars take the concept of history as the starting point to reflect on the issue of cultural subjectivity, pointing out that cultural subjectivity is a historical issue, and that the history of civilization, culture, thought, and scholarship of Chinese civilization, as well as the development process of Chinese civilization, such as geography, population, agricultural production, and foreign exchanges, all contain the deep roots of cultural subjectivity, and it is necessary to understand cultural subjectivity from the perspective of historical materialism. Second, Chinese-style modernization is a specific field for our cultural development and construction, and only by insisting on the equal emphasis on material civilization and spiritual civilization can we realize the self-consciousness and self-confidence of civilization. From the perspective of the comparison of Chinese and Western civilizations and Chinese and Western modernizations, it is helpful to grasp the modernization foundation of cultural subjectivity. Third, some scholars focus on a series of important philosophical concepts in cultural studies, and on the basis of critical reflection on the concept of culture itself, they have carried out theoretical discussions on issues such as cultural subjectivity and openness, cultural subjectivity and cultural subjectivity, cultural subjectivity and cultural identity, and the value orientation of cultural subjectivity.

The scholars at the meeting agreed that Xi Jinping's cultural thought, as a theoretical system that unifies science and value, has changed our theoretical understanding of the narrative mode of civilization and laid a solid foundation for the establishment of the cultural subjectivity of the Chinese nation. The discussion of the philosophical basis of cultural subjectivity is not only an important part of the systematic chemical and physical research of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, but also provides important theoretical support and methodological guidance for building a socialist cultural power and promoting Chinese-style modernization in the process of further deepening the reform.
