On the evening of September 13th, the School of Marxism held its first class and new student enrollment education activity in the lecture hall on the first floor of Mingli Building. College leaders, master's supervisors, office administrative staff, graduate class teachers, and all graduate students attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhuang Xiaoyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the School.

On behalf of the college, Zhang Bin, Secretary of the Party Branch and Dean, warmly welcomed the arrival of the new students of 2024. He gave the first lesson of the school year to all graduate students with the theme of Shaping the Self, Achieving the Great Self, and Composing a New Chapter in Life Together. Zhang Bin starts with the question of what the graduate stage means, pointing out that graduate students should understand the way of learning through a new test, test the effectiveness of past knowledge acquisition, and students of different grades should be good at improving through summarizing and reflecting. He emphasized the need to discover a new self in a new cultivation, and to practice hard work and true skills in Marxism through true learning, true understanding, true belief, and true application. To integrate human affairs into a new proof, strive to be a person with aspirations, abilities, emotions, and interests, respect the law, rules, teachers, and cherish friendship. He encouraged graduate students to achieve their 'big self' by shaping their 'little self', and to write a new chapter in their lives together.

Zhuang Xiaoyan and Wang Cheng respectively introduced the daily management and training program of graduate students. At the meeting, Li Jiawu, a representative of the supervisor, Wang Shuang, a representative of the alumni and a doctoral student from East China Normal University (video), Wang Ting, a representative of the alumni and a doctoral student from Beijing Institute of Technology (video), Tian Jingjing, a representative of the 2023 graduate student, and Huang Yanan, a representative of the 2024 graduate student, delivered speeches respectively.

Finally, the leaders and mentors of the college presented the Collected Works of Marx and Engels to the 2024 freshmen.

This first lesson and entrance education will help freshmen further understand the college and major, and further consolidate the consensus of all students to devote themselves to academia and forge ahead. It is of great significance for promoting students to strive for excellence and work together towards the future.
